What drives the cost

An electric cooktop element draws 1,200-3,000 watts each, and a full range with the oven running can pull far more. Coil and radiant elements lose meaningful heat to the surrounding air; induction transfers energy directly into the pan and is noticeably more efficient for the same cooking.

Is induction cheaper to run than a regular electric stove?
